PayTrace reads any courier format automatically. No configuration, no column mapping, no manual work.
Automatically maps your courier's column names - CRF IDs, UTR references, AWB numbers - regardless of format version or platform.
Classifies every discrepancy as MISSING, SHORT_PAID, OVERDUE, or RTO_ANOMALY. Each flag tells you the exact action to take.
Generates a formatted Excel report you can send directly to your courier's account manager. Evidence, not estimates.
Orders delivered and COD collected - but the payment never appeared in any remittance cycle.
Your courier collected ₹1,299. The remittance shows ₹1,099. The ₹200 difference is flagged to the rupee.
Courier SLAs promise payment within 7–14 days. PayTrace tracks every day past the deadline.
Order marked as returned, but the remittance shows cash collected. That's fraud, not a data error.

Everything D2C brands need to know about remittances, RTO fraud, and getting paid correctly.
COD reconciliation is the process of verifying that every delivered cash order has been correctly paid back to you by your courier. Without it, short payments, missing remittances and RTO fraud go undetected and silently erode your margins.
A healthy RTO rate for COD orders in India is under 20%. The national average sits between 28 and 35% for COD. To reduce it, use OTP verification at checkout, add COD fees to discourage low intent buyers, and flag high risk pin codes.
Short remittances happen when couriers deduct COD handling fees, reverse logistics charges, or wallet dues before transferring funds. In some cases orders are marked delivered but the remittance is missing entirely, which is a billing error or fraud.
Delhivery remits COD within 48 hours on their standard plan. Shiprocket offers daily remittance on their Early COD plan, versus the industry norm of 10 to 15 days. Actual timelines depend on your wallet balance and the plan you are on.
COD remittance delays happen when your courier wallet balance is negative, your bank details are incorrect, or the courier is batching payouts across a weekly cycle. Most Indian couriers take 5 to 15 days to remit COD amounts after delivery, depending on your plan and courier partner.
Download your courier remittance report and your Shopify order data for the same period. Compare the COD amount collected per order against what was actually transferred to your bank. Any gap is a short remittance that you can dispute with your courier.
You need to cross reference your courier remittance CSV against your Shopify order export, matching by AWB number and order amount. This process is time consuming manually and error prone at scale. PayTrace automates this in under 30 seconds.
Fake delivery fraud happens when a courier marks an order as delivered or returned without actually attempting it, then withholds the COD amount. You can detect it by comparing your delivery status report against customer confirmation and remittance data. Patterns like repeated RTOs from the same pin code or delivery agent are a red flag.
You need a separate remittance report from each courier, then match every AWB to an order in your store. With multiple couriers this means merging spreadsheets, normalising column formats, and checking for duplicates. Most D2C brands doing this manually spend 3 to 5 hours per reconciliation cycle.
Add up all orders marked delivered in your courier report where no corresponding remittance exists. Then check for orders where the remitted amount is lower than the order value. D2C brands in India typically find 2 to 8% of their COD revenue is either missing or short paid in any given month.
